1. Maxim Magazine

The most coveted men’s magazine featuring the hottest ladies gracing each month’s cover. Featuring topics ranging from technology, women, sports, sex, and comedy you’ll find the variety of topics enough to satisfy your craving. My favourite column is of course the Hometown Hotties. Check out the 2009 winners to see if you’re neighbour is on it.

2. GQ

Short for Gentlemen’s Quarterly, a magazine focused on fashion, style, and culture for men, through articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, travel, sports, technology, and books. Now that winter is upon us full force, you should definitely read the article on Best Winter Essentials, staying warm while still looking cool.

3. Rolling Stone

Featuring some of the most iconic musical artist of every generation this magazine is devoted to music, politics, and popular culture. Be sure to check out the article on Go Inside The Battle Over Global Warming on how to do your part.

4. Vibe

A music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones. The publication predominantly features R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers. Check out the most anticipated 2010 Albums and see if you’re agree with Canadian native Drake being #1 on the list.

5. Esquire

The very meaning of Esquire is to denote social class and this magazine offers nothing less. Known for printing on an over sized magazine with glossy paper, you will find unconventional topics gracing its pages. To check out some pretty ladies, be sure to read the Women We Love section.

6. Nylon Guys

A magazine that focuses on pop culture and fashion. Its coverage includes art, beauty, music, design, celebrities, technology and travel. The name Nylon derives from the magazine’s often featured articles featuring New York and London

7. Vice

Not to be confused with Vibe magazine, this edgy and controversial magazine features content ranging from sex, drugs, violence, crime, and social issues. They have an interesting column on fashion DOs and DON’Ts that you should definitely check out to stay fresh.

8. Men’s Health

The men’s guide to fitness, sex, women, workouts, weight loss, health, nutrition and muscle building. You should check out this month’s article on the best and worst cities for guys.

9. Men’s Vogue

Men’s Vogue is a twice yearly men’s magazine that covers fashion, design, art, culture, sports and technology.

10. Antenna

Considered a niche magazine by all accounts, this is Jing Liu’s favourite magazine to read. The content you will find mirrors that of which you will find in an Asian pop magazine. It features content ranging from upcoming clothes and shoes from your favourite brands to lifestyle and popular culture.

I must disagree, strenuously and vociferously, with the reintroduction of the wood-bottom clog to the high fashion lexicon. Even when these particular wood-bottom clogs are from Chanel Spring 2010. I will not stand for it.

What I do like, however, is smiling. Models smiling. When was the last time that you saw model after model, looking reasonably happy and human, in a major fashion show. In the fashion show of Paris Fashion Week? And do my eyes deceive me, or was supermodel Sasha Pivovarova talking on a cell phone on the runway?

And is that hay? Did Karl Lagerfeld turn the Grand Palais into a barn?

Yes and yes.

Quite honestly, regardless of the clothes (which were reasonably fabulous, but not the best of the week. Like I said in a previous post, Alexander McQueen already won), Chanel’s show appeared to be the most joyful. At my college, we had a saying: our team may occasionally lose a football game, but we’ve never lost a party. And that’s exactly what Chanel did this week: they won the party. I mean, they even had a live band! With Lily Allen! Was there a keg? If there was a keg, I bet it was really nice beer.

Fashion can get a little tricky when trying to mix lots of pieces with different textures and patterns, and for better or worse (we think for better), texture and pattern are all over the place lately. Anyway, if you’ve been a fan of designer bags for a few years now, you’ve likely seen the Jimmy Choo Tulita Shoulder Bag before. For those of you who joined us recently, there was a point in the not-so-distant past at which Jimmy Choo was merely a shoe brand. In the mid-2000s, they branched out in to bags and never looked back.

Back in those heady days of their first non-shoe products, however, the Tulita was one of Jimmy Choo’s first bag designs (or possibly the very first – it’s difficult to pin these things down) – but is there still a market for it?

Your eye makeup needs much more expertise then the rest of the face. Eye is part of your face which is focused by a person while you are looking at him. A little sensible care with the eye makeup can bring out the natural beauty from you. Here are some tips about your eye makeup,

• The eyeliner is mainly for giving definition to lash line. You can also add depth to eyes. To get a good result from the eyeliner, place the eyelid skin tight with fingertips of one hand and draw as fine a line as you can very close to the lash line with the other hand. Make sure hat your hands stays steady while you are applying.
• If you want the soft smoky look then spot the edge of the line with the smear end of the eyeliner pencil.

I have introduced two kinds of interesting handbags promoted in Chanel 2010 Paris-Shanghai collections before. Here I just would like to talk about the ready to wear in this fashion show. Though it is held last year, well we could start to get ready to prepare for the coming autumn outfits.

The Chanel Paris-Shanghai 2010 Pre-Fall Fashion Show is the eighth Metier D’Arts collection following Paris, Tokyo, New York, Monaco, London and Moscow, all locations which have a link to Chanel. Lagerfeld unveiled this collection on an 85 meter-long barge on the Huangpu river.


This collection borrowed elements including the utilitarian military looks of Communist China, cheongsam gowns, Coolie straw hats, and accents of red and yellow and presents the shape of pagodas, the rich, jewel colors and embroideries of the Manchu Dynasty, and the delicacy of Ming vases. New various of Chanel women coats with the style of vogue and the use of black color and silk fabrics together create a vogue woman.
It is luxurious and fantastic in that the accessories resemble the rich Chinese heritage with elaborate earrings, embroidered felt ” Chinese warrior” boots, sandals with sculpted feet.I love its dresses with their structured shouders and slim waists, which show a modern version of the Mandarin cheongsam gowns.

It is time to take the deep breath. The first day of spring is nearly here, but unless you live in the more southerly parts of North America (like perhaps Tegucigalpa or Cozumel) the weather is not yet all that. Soon, but not yet.
